We never appoint a new supplier before we’ve visited them. For us, it’s important to see the manufacturing set up, the quality control processes and meet the team before we decide if that we want to do business with them.
We’re looking for partners as well as just suppliers, and we’re looking establish long term relationships which will benefit our clients and their residents.
A typical example is the partnership we now have with Solar Calibre Doors who we visited last Spring at their factory in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, and who have rapidly become one of our main suppliers for replacement composite doors.
We routinely compare snagging rates on composite doors from all our suppliers on all our social housing contracts, and Solar Calibre Doors are already consistently the very lowest – at just 0.03%. That means almost no costly remedials for us and, just as importantly, no hassle or disruption for residents.
We have also been able to agree a fixed pricing structure with Solar Calibre Doors for the next 12 months, so we know we won’t be faced with price rises halfway through a contract when we are working at pre-negotiated rates.
We’ve endorsed Solar in the press recently and were pleased with the responds from their Managing Director Gareth Jones: “We are privileged to be supplying The Window Company (Contracts) as they are well known throughout the industry for their success and professionalism, having received multiple awards over the years. This makes their endorsement of Solar Calibre Doors even more special.”
