With fairly anaemic growth predicted in the UK economy in 2025, interest rates predicted to come down only very slowly, and the government doubling down on its determination to restore the public finances through a raft of higher taxes, the overall outlook for next year looks

Last week, I joined the FIT Forum to give my thoughts on the issues which matter most to installation companies, in the hope that as many as possible of these can be covered at the conference running alongside next year’s show.

In August’s issue of Glass Times magazine, Brian Gold from Jokita Software made some very valid comments about the need for glass businesses to really understand their costs in order to get their pricing and margins right and identify key areas for cost efficiencies.

We’ve always had an open book policy with customers to show them the strength of our financial position, but it’s good to get an independent endorsement of that via the highly credible Plimsoll Analysis.

In the May issue of Windows Active magazine, editor John Cowie acknowledged what most of us in this industry already know – that small and medium sized installation firms are increasingly winning the battle for hearts and minds in the retail sector.
