As another year comes to an end, it’s time to reflect on all that we have achieved in 2018, and think about the challenges which lie ahead in 2019.
For us, it’s been a year of amazing highs – being accepted onto the LHC windows and doors framework for the first time, becoming the first company in the UK to achieve a Gold rating in the GGF’s GLASS health and safety scheme, and winning a record third G-Awards Installer of the Year title.
That’s been down to the incredible commitment of our entire team of course, who have not just worked harder than ever before but smarter too, implementing new process and service initiatives to make us even more efficient, and even more responsive to customers.
We’ve worked very successfully with our suppliers as well to introduce new products such as Rehau’s greener co-extruded PVC-U profile and to strengthen our partnerships with them so that we can continue to provide an unbeatable combination of quality, service and value.
And, it has all been set against the background of a tough market which brought down Carillion back in January and has continued to batter the likes of Interserve and Kier.
Looking ahead, the ongoing uncertainty around Brexit and the effect that it is having on investment decisions is going to make life difficult for many, but I’m pleased to say that all the indications we have had so far from our customers about their spending in 2019 has been positive.
There was also some good news last week from the Association of Composite Door Manufacturers who have reached agreement with the government so that sales of fire doors can start again which means we can get moving again on projects which have stalled.
Overall, we’re feeling optimistic about 2019 – we’ll continue to invest in training and personal development programmes for every single member of staff and will focus on sustaining the reputation for quality and service we’ve built up over so many years which means we won’t need to join the race to the bottom on price.
Only one thing remains to wish all our customers a very Happy Christmas and a successful and prosperous New Year.
