Working in the Hampstead Garden Suburb conservation area, we worked closely with Capita/London Borough of Barnet to replace original timber windows with modern, secure and energy efficient alternatives.
We were the principal contractor on the project, so managed the specification, procurement and installation of the windows, as well as all the liaison with the conservation officer responsible for the area.
On the north elevation, we sourced bespoke timber sliding sash windows from a specialist local joinery company which were a perfect match to the windows being replaced, but which were also draught free, easier to maintain and better performing.
On the other elevations, we installed a mix of timber casement windows and sympathetically styled heritage aluminium frames which retained the character of the building and worked within the school’s budget.
