Reassuringly Safe

Hopefully, all of our customers will by now have seen our video showing how we prepared our workplace and our workforce to get back to work safely at the end of lockdown. The feedback we’ve had has been great and it’s been widely viewed already.

We’ve reconfigured our warehouse space so that it complies with the social distancing requirements and, in our office, we’re now working safely behind screens.

For our teams working out on new build sites, we’ve invested in training and additional PPE and, for those surveying or installing in people’s homes, we’ve gone a step further with a package of reassurance for homeowners and residents designed to make them feel safe and comfortable.

Some of our social housing clients have opted to delay the restart of contracts for a little while yet, which we completely understand, but others have been happy for us to restart in line with all the official guidance.

We’ve been pleasantly surprised at the response and, in the first couple of weeks of phoning residents to arrange surveys or installations, we haven’t yet had one who has asked us not to attend.

Obviously, we’re not visiting anyone who is shielding or showing symptoms, but it’s been encouraging to see the level of trust and confidence which I think come from us giving such a clear and firm commitment about how our team will operate.

We’ve even prepared residents’ packs which are available to every single homeowner we visit which includes a copy of both the FENSA and GGF guidance on safe working in people’s homes. These set out how we will maintain safe distancing and the highest standards of hygiene. Just as importantly though, the packs include a facemask for the resident to make them feel even more comfortable and even a The Window Company (Contracts) branded tea bag so that they can sit back and relax.
